Well, the crown was worn very proudly on the way to the party, and for the hour that we were there setting up, prior to the guests’ arriving. The crown hit the floor just a few minutes before the first guest arrived, and was not worn again until I slipped it on for the candle-blowing-out photo op. Ditto for his birthday-mate. Ah well. They were very excited about the crowns for that first bit, and that was fun to see.

I can’t share any pictures from the party, because they’re full of other people’s children. I can show you how my guy looked on his way to his big event:
