Scarf and Sock Sunday!
It’s been a good weekend for finishing up the small projects that have been teetering on the edge of FO for some time now.
I finished the Koigu socks.
I also finished Billy’s scarf, at long last.
Since I always have one pair of socks going, the question now is whether to cast on more Koigu, or switch off and knit up some of that Regia mini-ringel I’ve got in my stash. I have a hot pink, orange, yellow, and red colorway that I’m in love with. It won’t be quite as sumptious in hand as the Koigu, but I’d definitely enjoy having them to wear. Hmmm. Guess I have made up my mind, after all. Regia ringel next up on the sock needles.
And I really am going to finally swatch for Season this week. I have a job due on Thursday, then nothing scheduled (leaving things more open because the move could happen now as soon as in two weeks) so let’s say Friday is for Season. Gulp. It’ll be my first attempt at jaquard. Floats? Hunh? My ever-patient knitting mentor, Andrea, will be coaching me through it. In addition to her kind wisdom, I’m open to all helpful hints!
Snappy accessories! Love that jaunty “look what she knit for me” pose 🙂
The only advice I can give you to re jacquard is: Make sure your floats aren’t too tight, or some stitches may disappear when the fabric is stretched. I speak from experience. Hee hee!

How nice to see such happy feet! The Koigu socks look luscious indeed. That’s definitely what I’m starting after I finish my mini-ringel socks — I’m on an opposite schedule to you. 🙂 We’ll be ringeling together! Great scarf for Billy, too. He’s getting quite spoiled lately, isn’t he?

Hooray for finished objects! And such lovely ones, too!! Hey – remind me – which is Season? You’ll have a ball with floats, I swear. Something about them make my hands and my brain happy all at the same time.

The socks are gorgeous! And I love the “aw shucks” pose your feet are in. Isn’t it funny how all the knitters chime in with “WOW, the Koigu is FABulous…oh yeah, the scarf is nice, too.” I’m kidding–the scarf looks warm and comfy and it’s in one of my favorite colors, so of course I’m going to love it.
Five minutes of watching Andrea do her floats was enough for me to get it. She’s amazing! Can I come watch the swatching? 😉

Yes, lucky feet! Nice job on both the scarf and socks. I can’t get over my fear of the heel for some reason. I have some socks I started a long time ago, but quit at the heel. You’ve inspired me to try again. 🙂
