I’m here! I swear I’m still here!
Hey folks. Sorry about the spotty posting of late. The dialup connection I’m wrestling with while I wait for the dsl to be installed boots me off every three minutes or so. No exaggeration. I had to sign on three times just to write these first sentences.
So now, let’s see how long it takes me to upload some photos, hmmm? I know I’ve been promising them for a while. Just a few today, then a few more tomorrow or the next day…don’t want to overwhelm you with all this new house goodness. Of course, please bear in mind as you view the pics that we’re basically camping out here while the initial work is done. The walls will NOT be white, and all of our lovely stuff will eventually surround us again.
First, here are the dogs in a sunbeam. They’re in Billy’s office, where they hang out during the day. Of course, those mini blinds and the carpeting are destined for the Dumpster. Luckily that’s the only carpet in the house. The rest is all yummy inlaid wood.
Here are the pups on the day we moved in. They’d been through a lot during the four days of the move, poor things. We shifted them from our apartment full of boxes and chaos, to doggy daycare for a day, to my mom’s house for a couple of days, and then they had to ride on my lap in the van we rented from my mom’s house to the new house…anyway, they were exhausted and passed out as soon as they completed their first official inspection of the new place.
And finally, here’s a corner of my office–it’s the knitting and reading corner. I got tired of sitting in folding chairs after the first couple of days, so my mother brought this rocking chair over. It originally belonged to my greatgrandfather (Charles Wolfort Shaw, AKA Casanova Charlie). I was nursed in this rocking chair. Now it’s mine. I can’t begin to tell you how happy I am to finally have a place for this chair.
There ya go. More to come, I promise.
Hi Cari! It looks like a lovely new place. Hang in there during the renovations…it sucks to live in a construction zone, but in the end its SO worth it.

What a wonderful rocking chair. Just think – a very little Cari was happy in that chair years and years ago, and now she gets to be happy there all over again!

Oh, it looks so great. It looks like the kind of house I dream of living in (especially while I’m living in a tiled concrete box!). And what a fabulous rocking chair & knitting corner! More pictures, please!
