My mom says
Call your mommy!
I finished my mom’s sweater/tunic thingy just in time for her visit today. Tomorrow’s her birthday, so I was happy to have the sweater ready for her. She liked it so much she struck her best Dance Sport USA pose. Isn’t she the very cutest in all the land?
Then, she did the Rachael.
I designed and started this sweater back in April 2003, when I’d only been knitting for five months. Not bad, considering, but I’ll do her next sweater differently. I was so worried about the fit of this thing that after finishing the arms and body up to the joining point I shoved it to the bottom of the project basket for a long time–about a year, actually–before finally deciding to just finish the thing, buckling down and getting it done. I used Cotton Fleece. The edging is seed stitch, and the rest is a whole lotta st st. Well, not that much cause my mama is a little mama.
Luckily she likes loose, flowing tops. It actually fits like many of her store-bought sweaters, so I guess it’s okay. Mostly I think I don’t love it because it reminds me of all the things I would have done differently if I had known then what I know now. Ah well. Next time, Mom, waist shaping.
Now I know where you get your looks. Dang, what a great little mama. The sweater is perfect on her, doll. Yay!

The sweater looks great on her! Good work. Every sweater I have made, I think I would have done things differently. Oh well, live and learn. From her poses, I think she likes a lot, even if there is no waist shaping! 🙂 Great work!

Congrats Cari on yet another finished project! Dang, you were designing sweaters after a few months of knitting! I don’t know how you juggle everything, but it’s fun reading about it! Good luck with your wedding jewelry and can’t wait to see it all when it’s finished!

The sweater looks great! Your mom looks great, She doesn’t look old enough to have a child your age, but then again I don’t recall how old you are. Anyway, she looks darn good and I bet she is a lot of fun. Love the Rachel shot!
