My secret pal can kick your secret pal’s ass
Seriously, I have a kickass secret pal. I received my first SP3 package the other day and look what was in it!
Could those colors be any more perfect for me? Yummy yarn AND chocolate! And some really nice lotion. She rocks. I was a bit half-hearted going into this whole secret pal thing and signed up mostly out of curiosity. I’ve been very pleasantly surprised. My secret pal sends great emails and fantastic gifts, and the person I’ve been designated to spoil is very charming and it’s been a lot of fun to put together packages for her. I’m really enjoying it–go figure!
I finished my wedding necklace. I decided against the wristlets because I think it would just be too much. The necklace alone is perfect. I tried it on with the dress today and I’m rather pleased with myself. The dress designer may be interested in selling some pieces, depending on price, so I need to do some math and decide if it would be worth my time. It was a lot of fun to make this piece, so I think I might pursue it. Here it is on Rosy. You won’t see it on me until I post wedding pics.
After a whole lot of wedding stress, today I had exactly the kind of day I needed. Billy and I slept in a bit, then I went to get my yarnhair freshened up for the wedding. Christina, world’s most wonderful friend/bridesmaid had her dye redone at the same time and then we had coffee and muffins. Then on to Kimera to pick up the wedding dress, which I LOVE. Since I was in the area, I thought I’d pop in to see how the very very insanely busy (and very generous) Staceyjoy was holding up. I kept her from her knitting for quite some time, I’m afraid, but we had a lovely chat and I picked up a Staceyjoy original, a gorgeous red and gold knit skirt that I’ve been coveting since she posted it on her blog. It’s amazing. I think I might wear it to our rehearsal dinner type thingy, so I’ll post a pic of it after the wedding.
Things seem to be under control now. I’m almost afraid to say that. Almost. The caterer’s set. The dress is set. The deck is solid. The house sitters are lined up to protect the homestead while we’re away… There is the one minor detail of potential torrential downpours that might get in the way of the outdoor seating, but we’ll deal with whatever comes up. Love my guy, and I’m getting to marry him, so that’s what really matters. Well, that and my fabulous red dress.
