Don’t be alarmed…
…but I have ACTUAL KNITTING CONTENT. I know. Shocking.
I finished the back of the Corset Pullover. The camera did something weird to the creamy off-white Rowan Calmer. There aren’t actually tree trunk-like rings in the stockinette sections. (Or is that just my monitor? Or my eyes? Now I’m picturing you leaning in and squinting at the screen and saying, “What rings? I don’t see any rings. What’s Luna been eating?” Please tell me you see the rings too.)
So now all that’s left is the sleeves with their delicate lace cuffs; a million and two strappy things; the lacey edging of the neckline; the uber-careful seaming to get this close-fitting number just right; the purchase and application of D-rings; the prayers, hopes, burnt offerings, and ritual dances involving tiny dogs in the hopes that after all the work this thing is actually flattering…
Stay tuned.
i see the rings too. i think it’s the moire effect of the reflections from the yarn?

I see the rings. And I’ll hope and pray, not only for the sake of all your work, but I’m waiting to determine if I want to make this too.

Rings, yes. I’d love this as a tank. So feminine. Darn sleeves. Are you sure they’re necessary?

I really need to get my butt in gear, I want this in my dark grey calmer 🙂
Perhaps the first fall knit of the season? Not that I actually even switched over this year..tank tops? What tank tops?
Posted by: Amber
I want pictures of the ritual with the tiny dogs. Please?
That will be beautiful on you.
Posted by: claudia
I’ll volunteer to handle the hopes!

¿Danzas rituales? jeje me lo apunto para mi próximo proyecto. Estoy deseando ver cómo queda el Corset Pullover, mucho ánimo and happy knitting!

Just a million and two strappy things? No problem, then. You go, girl.

This looks great! I can’t wait to see the modelling shot.

Oh, it’s lovely. And I can only imagine how soft it is. Calmer is such a dream! No idea why the rings show up. I think it must be a pixelating thing or something.

I’ve had the ring problem with Calmer photos, too, although mine was more like stripes. My hypothesis is that it’s the way the microfiber catches the light, but it sure is weird. I’m going to second Claudia’s request for pictures of the tiny dog dances.

I see your stripes, and I raise you. I posted a photo of a calmer top I knit last summer, and I got rings going right around both boobs, like targets. Lovely.

Bee-yoo-tee-ful! the rings are puzzling indeed…
Posted by: Anne
“the purchase and application of d-rings” sounds a wee bit kinky. the rest of it just sounds daunting. i can’t wait to see it on you! you’re going to look smashing in it.

Yep, I see rings that indicate this WIP is 25 years old. Hurry up so we can see that ritual dance with the dogs!
Posted by: alison
Does the ritual involve knitting little corsets for the iggies? ‘Cos I think Sadie could pull it off…

I see the rings and Happy Belated Birthday!!!! xoxo

I’d forsake the rings and just tie the million and two strappy things. Odd-I thought there were only four.

It’s got to do with the lighting and your angle, something called moiré. Kind of interesting, huh? can’t wait to see the finished corset!

Your blog is so worth getting a stiff neck on my rusted in one position typists chair. I love it – and your knitting. Please tell me where I can get the pattern for Lara from (old posting, I know, but couldnt find any details) I’ve got to make that!

beautiful!! I can’t get off the sock kick right now, but someday I’ll expand my repertoire. However i am really commenting for my own selfish need. I have been trying for over a year now to find a men’s sock pattern in sock yarn for size 12-13 feet AND I JUST FOUND YOUR BLOG!! Please can you send me your pattern or tell me where to buy one??? THANK YOU!!! And yes I definately see rings.

That will look great when you finish it. Yep, rings and all. I think the rings are just from the jpg compression.

SEVEN DAAAAAYS! Oh, wait, not THOSE rings… 😉

Beautiful job – I am honestly envious. You’ve nailed the reason that I put my corset pullover knitting aside for a while – I live in fear that it won’t be flattering. Better to suspend the dream than be (possibly) disappointed by the reality after all that work. I’ll be waiting to see how the sleeves work out and how it all looks when it’s done!

I see the rings too- I hate when that happens. The corset itself looks like it’s going to be beautiful, because of the elegant cream. Very nice.
