The Must-Read Book for October (yes, we’re planning ahead)

My friend Michael Deibert’s book can now be pre-ordered! (so many Michaels around here…)

From a company that supports the Democratic Party: Ooh! Bookish goodness!

or a company that (oddly) supports the Republicans: My, what a wonderful read that promises to be.

or from Oregon: Must! Have! That! Book!

PS: Floyd is doing really well, though Billy has taken to calling the poor thing Mike. He’s SO not a Mike.

  1. What Jackie said. Hate to be a pest, but YOU MADE US LOVE HIM. Please post more pictures of Floyd/Mike, along with stories about what he’s up to.

  3. Miss Kringle, Dash the In-laws’ Greyhound, and Mr. Kitty That Sort Of Belongs To The Neighbors say hi to Floyd/Mike! He’s a lucky little guy. 🙂

  4. OK – are the eyes looking better for Floyd/Mike? (And you’re totally right, he’s SO NOT a Mike.)

One more random question…that conditioner from Lush that I cannot pronounce (you should have seen me in the store trying to explain myself…) how much do you use as a leave-in? I think I may have used too much this morning. Ugh…

  5. I refuse to call him anything but Floyd.

When my father was little, he named seven cats Mickey. Some of them were actually in existence at the same time…so there was Mickey the First, Mickey the Second, etc.

Mike is just too close. (Mike also happens to be my dad’s name. Go figure.) Don’t go there, Billy, please…

  6. Hmmm…buy a book from a Democratic company or a Republican…such a tough choice…hmmmm……….oh well, as Billie Joe Armstrong of Green Day said in concert last week, “My name is George Bush, but you can call me asshole.”

The book looks great, thanks for noting it. And Floyd is darling. There’s a special place in whatever afterlife you believe in for people who rescue animals.

  11. Two thoughts. Kitten doesn’t care what you call him and as long its not late for dinner.

    And, on a related note.

Igor probably thinks his name is “chicken” or “monkey chicken”, since that is what he’s called the vast majority of the time.

    Cats is funny like that.

  12. That’s for the book tip. Have you ever posted about your favorite books? I have a friend who always asks authors at book readings/signings what their favorite books are — interesting to hear.

  13. So will kitty be hyphenated? Floyd-Mike? Doesn’t roll off the tongue quite as well as, say, Billy-Bob or Bobby-Jo, but we’re all adaptable.

Thanks for the link to the book. Looks intriguing.

  18. If mom has taught us anything it is that animals earn their names through their actions and charachter or by first letter in their species title such as sammy spider or sally salamander or gary ground hog, henrietta the chicken had the root HEN. I dont know where Floyd got his name but it is better than Mike.
please advise Billy as to the the family animal naming rules. Love ya.
