In those rare moments when I’m not at my desk…
Laundry day
Cari camouflage!
Natalya gauntlets in red Calmer knit for Christina, who really needed the Calmer more than I did. (It’s the Calmer Norma sent me for socks. Norma, when I tell you why she needed these gauntlets, you’ll agree it was the best possible use of the yarn.)
I got two gauntlets from one yummy delicious ball of Calmer, with this much left over:
And today, a package from Regina!
I love the colors of the leaves on that sock picture! so pretty and fallish!!!

That is an AWESOME picture of you and the leaves. I love it!
Posted by: Angela
That really is Carrie camouflage! Glad to see you getting good foliage there, because it’s sucking here. I love getting to see the color!
Posted by: Jenn
Love, love, love the Cari Camouflage!
Posted by: Iris
You’re guaranteed to be the one person who can turn me to wearing colour – the leaves shot is fabulous.
Posted by: Alison
that is awonderful photograph!!
Posted by: pixie
Agree with what they all said. Stunning colors, great photo!

Darlin’, no explanation necessary (although I already got the email. You’re a doll.) Those gauntlets are gorgeous, and I bet they really did the trick. And that photo of the leaves! I could die. No leaves in Vermont this year, really. No colors, anyway. And today, ugh. Let’s not really talk about that, k?
and TWO gauntlets from one ball! WOW!!

You should absolutely do something with that camo photo. Sell it. Frame it and sell it.
It is stunning.

Two gauntlets from one ball???
That does it. Handspun gauntlets. It’s necessary.
What Norma said…no foliage, horrrrrrrible snow already, blech blech blech. My hands are freezing.
I swear, package to you in the making. I’m hoping I don’t have to send it to NY as a welcome home package because that was not my original intent, but it might happen that way. In any case, thinking of you, and hoping you’re getting what you need in paradise 🙂

Love the Calmer…Love the gauntlents!

You have a future in fashion design — Cari Camo will be your label.
Posted by: Gina
Love the socks, the leaves w/clogs, and hope you’re enjoying your season in the midwest.
Posted by: Cassie
the picture of you in the company of the leaves makes up for how dismal the color changes have been here (it’s all of the unwelcome rain and wind!). any chance that photo could wind up on the dust jacket of a book? (as part of a cover – or is that something that doesn’t happen for awhile?). I know they say I shouldn’t judge a book by it’s cover…but…with that picture I’d but one to read and one to frame!
Posted by: Kristen
Oooo! I love that leaf shot! Beautiful leaves, and you match so well. 🙂
Posted by: Andrea
that is eye candy cari. what kind of dig camera do you use? i’m glad to see you surrounded by steady productivity and beauty. can’t ask for much more.
Posted by: kaarin
Oh Wow! oh wow….the colors of leaves…your adorable clogs. Instant homesickness…
The fall is beautiful here in France but nothing, nothing, nothing compares to New England(ish) regions. I really miss it.

De-lurking post here – to say ‘thanks’ for the fabulous ‘camouflage’ shot, the knowledge that you can get a pair of gauntlets out of a ball of Calmer, and a wonderful blog in general. I’m a regular reader, finally driven to comment by, amongst other things, someone (http://toknitperchancetodream.net/) who assures me that comments are valued, even from strangers!

the camouflage picture = priceless. 🙂

What everyone said about the camo shot. Love it.

Ooh, such a beautiful color-coordinated fall-licious post. I can’t wait for all those colors to come to our area…
Posted by: J Strizzy
Your post is all color-coordinated! I love the Cari camouflage, those red leaves are so bright!
Posted by: Diana
what they all said about the camo-pic! Awesome!
Posted by: melanie
echoing everyone’s sentiments abou the camo shot! so adorable. love the gauntlets, too. i have serious foliage envy. it’s cold back home, and the leaves haven’t changed color at all.
Posted by: regina
Awesome, awesome picture of the socks.
And those ginger chews rule! If you happen to get motion sickness as badly as I do, chewing on one of them tends to help a LOT.
🙂
Posted by: Lily
Ooh look at all the lovely sockles!!!
I want to eat them. Not cookies. Just socks!!! I eat them! Yum!!!
Posted by: pippy
Gorgeous, all of it.
Posted by: Rachael
Yet another reason to lust after the red Danskos . . . fall camouflage. Awesome. (I actually thought the socks were leaves on the window-sill at first glance.) It’s all so brilliant! Enjoy the beautiful fall colors!
Posted by: Becca
I *love* the red clogs picture. Such color! Such clarity and composition! Okay, thanks for the bit of cheer on this gloomy grey day!
Posted by: MJ
yes..the leaves/dansko picture is great…yes the socks are great (love the colors)…but what do i look at first- the cookies! what nice friends you have that send you cookies! i love you, but i’m not nearly thoughtful enough to send cookies. or rather- i’m thinking about it, but not at all sure how to find the time to find cookies that look like they might be homemade (you know better then to eat anything i make!), find the time to wrap them up and find the time to mail them. but i am thinking of you and can’t wait to read the fabulous book you are writing right now! (after i read fabulous book number 1)

wonderful photograph!

I love the leaves/clogs pic so much that I’ve made it my desktop! You see, here in Southern California we are so lacking in autumn foliage that I’m forced to borrow it from others 🙂

A surprise for me-my son is taking Spanish 3, so I went to the store to get a good phrase book to try and talk to him. I picked what I thought was the best one, and thoroughly enjoyed it. One day the author’s name just jumped out at me-Cari Luna? Woman of many talents! Only problem-no Spanish for: yarn, I’m looking for a yarn shop, I’m a knitter…etc. Doesn’t EVERYONE knit???? Lol. Love the book!

What a perfect picture of my favorite colors…..I just LOVE those reds and oranges!!

I am bookmarking this post for all the cheerful colors that I will soon forget once winter sets in. Thanks!

PS – You should absolutely do Branching Out in cashmere! it would be a really rewarding process.
Posted by: amandamonkey
I’d like to add my voice to the ‘Love the camouflage picture!’ chorus. Those colors have got me all full of glee…and the gauntlets make me wish the internet offered virtual squishing.
Posted by: keli
I think Cari camouflage is the coolest fucking picture I’ve ever seen. Period.
Posted by: john
I love the leaf picture- so beautifully autumn! I also love your sock picture. I would love that many beautiful knitted socks. Alas, I only have 1 3/4 finished sock and it’s not even going to be for me. Sometimes I curse my giving spirit. 🙂

OK, I don’t know where the hell I have been — Dream Agent said YES!! Happy dance!
I too love the Cari-camo shot. You’re too cute.
Posted by: alison
Hey,
I’m so with you on the calmer. I love that stuff. It’s completely dreamy. I’m making my second pair of legwarmers out of it, and when I’m done, I’ll probably make another! Such lovely gauntlets — I might try those, too.

my daughter could use gauntlets.

That’s funny — I have to start my socks on 2 circs (or magic loop) on DPNs and move ’em over!
Posted by: Anne
That fall foliage was so vivid that I almost didn’t think it was real! Nary a leaf has fallen here in NC.

Thanks

I love the socks on your radiator — such a pretty array! Looks like you need to be in Socktoberfest next year! it was all the rage this year 🙂
Love the leaf picture too!
Posted by: Lolly
For some reason that leaves picture — and you in it, natch — just hit me with a Bard flashback like an icepick to the brain. But in a good way…
Fortunately, I’ll get my fall fix tomorrow, as I go tromping around a local state park all day with Amy’s birding class.
