Nothing says “Welcome home” like chocolate and yarn
The wonderful Lee Ann sent me a care package to help ease my re-entry to the real world. Look how utterly fantastic and yummy. No, I won’t share the chocolate.
Please take special note of that fibery goodness there. Guess what I’m taking to the hair stylist when it’s time to get the color redone?
In other happy news, Alison will be here on Tuesday! She’s my closest friend who I’ve never met, and very very soon she will be sleeping under my roof. Very exciting. There will be yarn fondling. There will be chocolate eating. There will be Thanksgiving. There will be more chocolate eating, and probably more yarn.
All the knitting I’ve been doing lately has been gift knitting, so I can’t show it here. Let’s just say some folks are getting socks and some folks are getting lacey mohairy scarves and one or two folk are getting hats and leave it at that. And yes, I did say I wasn’t going to knit for the holidays ever again, but somehow it seemed like a good idea the other night when I was making gift lists and…well…
I know what you mean about the gift knitting – I was on strike! Some losers-of-handcrafted-goodiness were on probation! But now? Ah… my fingers are restless and grandma would look so nice in a cotton candy lace scarf…

can you share the details of the Angel Scarf pattern? I’m intrigued…
I hope you have a great visit with Alison! I love how guests change my mindset for the better and how much fun it is to do all of the fun things that only the “outtatowners” do. How do your dogs do with visitors?

Have fun with Alison! Enjoy the chocolate and friendship.

I do the same thing with gift knitting. I say I am not going to make anything because it just adds to the normal holiday stress and then I’ll add *just one* and then soon another, and this would be perfect for so and so….and so on and so forth. Before you know it I have a full blown hoilday knitting list again. Next year I am sticking to no gift knitting though… no really.

More chocolate than you can poke a stick at coming your way……..

I’m not calling it gift knitting. That implies a gifting date. I’m calling it….. knitting manically until my hands are numb. Yup.
(Is that Handmaiden yarn?)

Gift knitting, yea, verrily. I’m not in a frenzy yet but I can feel it coming on!

You’re a good woman to knit gifts for your loved ones. I am long on ambition but extremely short on time, so i think the only folks who are getting knitted gifts this year are the kids and their sitter. oh well.
Yay to Lee Ann for the great package! I hope I get to meet Alison while she’s here. I’m sure you guys will have a blast.

I seem to be knitting gifts for Christmas, but wanting to keep them for myself!

I bought myself one of those Angel Scarf thingies a couple of weeks ago and am dying to make it, but if my small boy sees me start anything before I start making a scarf for him I’ll be a Mummy in Big Big trouble…

Lucky you! I think that’s a perfect hair color…

I have a question about your dogs (they are so cute!). What size sweater do they wear? My grandmother’s friend just got an italian greyhound and I would like to knit a sweater for the dog. If you could point me in the direction of some recommended patterns, I would appreciate it.
Thanks and Happy Turkey Day!
