I’m 35 years old today.

This is the first birthday that’s had a sting to it for me. It’s not old, but it’s certainly not young. Thirty-five sounds terribly grown-up, doesn’t it? Cue midlife crisis.

  5. Happy Birthday! Your first one in Utopia, right? Wonderful! I had mine Friday, but won’t be in pdx until labor day weekend. I am sure someone as talented as you can channel any midlife crisis into a midlife chrysalis and emerge even more alive by your next birthday!

    Which, honestly, sounds really young to me. Its amazing how my perception/perspective on age-numbers has changed over time. Maybe yours is just in the process of adjusting.

    I had my “midlife” crisis when I turned 25. Now I’m looking forward to the thirties and really happy that I am not 15 anymore.
    I have so many great friends and collegues who are plenty older than me (in number of years, that is, nothing else). It makes me look forward to what is coming.

  157. Sorry to have missed your birthday. Hope it was at least fun-filled. 35 isn’t quite old. Wait till you get to ooops! I really cannot reveal my age. Believe me, I’m really old. It’s at that age when your joints will achingly reveal your true age. haha!
    Just make the most of the 30’s. The 40’s can be wonderful. But it will make you wish for your 30’s. So there!
