A birthday gift for myself: Couch to 5k Graduate!

Today is my 38th birthday. Yesterday, I completed the final run of Couch to 5k. That’s nine weeks, going from huffing and groaning through 60-second running segments to comfortably running for 30 minutes without stopping. It may not seem like much, but it’s a lot to me. I’m much stronger at 38 than I was at 37. I’m proud of myself.

Happy birthday to my heart, lungs, and legs. Thanks for getting me up the big hill three times a week.

  2. Mid-30s to mid-40s was the healthiest decade of my life … at least I think it was: a long time ago. Enjoy it. It goes away. Happy Birthday, lady.

I’ll be 38 in half a year or so…but will have to live vicariously through you all…still healing from a 4 year-ago bike accident. Trucks are not my friends.

That is fantastic! And what a great way to look at exercise. I think I might have to copy cat you and get on the running wagon.

Awesome. So – next up, a marathon? 🙂

I started running again this January (I’m 35). It’s been pretty off and on, but I’m planning on running a 5k in October, pushing along a jogging sroller with the munchkins in tow.

I was just starting to think about giving running a shot and low and behold I got pregnant. A miracle baby! Maybe next year I will run? I can’t complain. It only too me four years to get here. Everything in its own time 🙂
