Another little FO
This baby sweater had been sitting around half-seamed for two months. I finally buckled down and finished it this weekend. Hopefully the baby hasn’t outgrown it! (Actually, it will be fine, I’m sure. It’s sized for 12 mos, she won’t be one until the end of October and she’s very small because she was very premature…) I used Debbie Bliss Wool Cotton.
This is for Chay, my friends’ daughter. She was threatening to be born from the end of month three on (if I recall correctly, which I think I do), and her mother spent three months in the hospital last summer trying to prevent that. Or a bit more than three months… She was born one day after whatever week’s milestone gave her a reasonable chance of survival. The details are hazy now because everyone came through it okay. At the time it didn’t look like they would. Anyway, she was born very premature but is now healthy and well and delightful. My next planned project for Chay will be a little pumpkin or apple hat for winter. I LOVE those things, am sometimes tempted to knit one in my size.
You should definitely knit an apple or pumpkin hat in your size. We should have a grown-up fruit/vegetable hat knit-along.

I have a full-size eggplant cap, and I’m planning to make myself a pumpkin cap. They are not just for children! And, um, that big doll is freaking me out.

I think they’re adorable, too–the strawberry and grape ones just kill me. Why aren’t my friends reproducing? OK, you know? Don’t answer that.
The sweater is just lovely. Congratulations on finishing it!

Thanks for the movie suggestions, I love Jimmy Stewart and I know the mister will be into watching Ashes of Time. I’m going to head straight for blockbuster!
PS – the sweater is fabulous!

Awww… I remember you swearing at that while it was in your lap….
Too cute, doll. And yes, I vote for apple hat for you. To match/complement your hair.

You must knit the fruit/veggie hat! They are great and I vote for the knit-along too!

I saw a pattern somewhere for an acorn hat. Too cute. I want one, but I don’t think I could pull it off.

Congrats on the FO! That will be one less little nagging voice calling “Finish meee!” It’s lovely, too.
Count me in for one adult-size fruit hat.

p.s. I meant you can make a hat for me, not that I want to knit one along with you… 😉
