Checking in

In the midst of the getting-ready-to-move flurry, we’ve also been doing this:

And this

And this

empire waist body.jpg

(Yep, that’s the empire waist cardi. I warned you it would be slow going on that one. I’ve got an inch left of body to knit until the join, then I’ll start the sleeves. I’m determined to get it done and get the pattern posted before the move.)

Meanwhile, the listmaking and planning and emailing and phone calling and stressing involved with closing on two houses, moving, and planning to drive cross-country is done while listening nearly nonstop to this and then there’s lots of playing with Thumper thrown in for good measure, and that’s usually done while listening to this.

I can’t wait to be done with the planning and just hit the road with my guys.

  3. I just KNEW that one of those had to be Dan Zanes (and if it weren’t, I was going to suggest it)! Isn’t he the best? He was here in town not long ago and the concert was just…spectacular. Do you know him personally? ‘Cause it seems that many of the people that I know, do, even way out here. He has fewer degrees of separation than Kevin Bacon!
Should you and your guys end up as far south as Tucson on your way West (and why would you? In August? That would make you foolish as well as lost), give a shout. We’d be happy to give you a bed and/or a meal.

  5. Love watching Thumper grow up in the pictures! My little girl is a month or so younger, and we are also vegetarian. So its nice to see what he is getting up to. Our girl also likes climbing into boxes! Good luck with the moving!

  7. I’m not sure if you will want to stop this close to your destination but it’s definitely worth a weekend family trip later once you are settled. You have to see the Oregon Vortex. It is a very trippy and fun place that you have to see to really believe in southern Oregon (www.oregonvortex.com).

  8. Oh, I have to second the Oregon Vortex (the House of Mystery or something like that). I think it might be for sale.

Yeah, Thumper is so stinkin’ cute. I love seeing pics of him! And I don’t care how trite it is to say this, I can’t BELIEVE how big he is getting this fast! He is losing that baby look and really starting to look like a little boy.
