Evidence of actual knitting activity
Rolltop Trekking socks (ball band lost and I have no idea what color # this is) finished. Next pair of mindless rolltop socks cast on (Regia #5399). I’d forgotten how much fun the simple self-patterning sock yarns like Regia can be. I have a ton of work to do today, but all I want to do is keep knitting this sock to see what color stripe comes up next.
And the first Rogue sleeve is done. When this sweater is done, will I remember when slipping my arms into the sleeves years down the road that nearly the entire time I spent knitting this first sleeve, a certain fetus was kicking me really hard in the ribs? Same spot over and over? Probably not. I’m sure the euphoric recall will erase it. Right now though? I really wish he’d move on to a different spot. When he first started kicking I dubbed him Thumper. In the last couple of weeks, he’s gained so much strength that we’re calling him the Kickboxer instead. A bit of in utero muay thai. I had hoped he’d take after me in the martial arts, but not until after he was born. Where was I? Oh yeah. A sleeve.
That’s all I’ve got for you, folks. Back to the editing desk I go.
Oh, how I love that sleeve. It’s just beautiful.
Nice feet, too 🙂

I never get tired of seeing Rogue. I love the detailing on the sleeve. Good luck with the kickboxer!

I used to say my son was doing karate. Sadly they find a good spot and they just hammer at it. My second son was also a kicker and liked the exact same spot. Just be thankful each time he kicks that he’s not getting you in the bladder. 🙂

Love the sleeve…
When I was carrying my first son, Patrick, he kicked me so hard in the ribs when I was 8 months pregnant that he actually cracked it! And then, wouldn’t you know it, I got bronchitis and all the coughing…
Anyway…I knitted up one of your Baby Yoda sweaters, and it is so sweet, I just had to invite you over to my blog to see it.
Good to see you with your feet up resting…take care!

Rogue’s sleeve looks fabulous. I really like that color. I’ll bet you’ll always remember that you knit Rogue while pregnant with Thumper.
I’m also feeling the effects of in utero martial arts… haven’t felt the joy of a kick to the ribs yet, but I think my little one is doing jumping jacks or something similar. It’s odd to feel movement in more than one place at a time!

Nice Sleeve!
What pattern do you use for your roll-top socks? I’ve been looking for one.
Thanks!!

I just _love_ Trekking yarn. Over and above all others. I think it’s because the striping happens so organically.
I called my belly babies “Thumper” too. I remember one of them stretching his foot up into my diaphram. That made me sit up straight!

If you ever find yourself forgetting what it was like while you were knitting Rogue and hadn’t met Thumper (or the next Tony Jaa) yet, all you’ll have to do is go back and read your blog.
Great socks and love the sweater!

That sleeve went quick! Well for me it did anyway. 😉 It looks great!
I love your trekking socks. I haven’t tried a roll top yet for myself but I really like the way that looks. Do you do all ss or do you knit a couple of rows of rib to get it to stop rolling?

Ooch. My boy loved to kick me in the ribs, too. That’s what I get for being 5’4″ and having a 21 1/2″ baby!

I swear I had bruised ribs for my entire last month – but tell the little guy that this is a bit early for the kickboxing.

Look at that lovely sleeve. Don’t you think its great to be so easily entertained? A ball of self-striping sock yarn, some toothpicks and we’re set!

That cable really pops in the Peace Fleece. I just finished a Rogue using Elann’s Perunvian Highland Wool, and I had considered using Peace Fleece for my next one (the one for ME), and I think you just clinched the deal. It looks great!

My sister just had her baby, but they called him Knuckles. Now that he’s out he flings his arms around alot and accidentally hits himself in the face. I guess that’s what he was doing on the inside too. 🙂

Do those socks protect you from toe-biting cats?

Two sock projects in one photo — nice work! And great sockies.
