half-heartedly apologizing for another pictureless entry
Glum right now and feeling guilty about wasted writing time. I had a bad writing day today. Managed to do a bit of revision on a short story, but wrote exactly one new paragraph on the novel. I spent most of my five precious hours staring at the screen, accomplishing nothing. The bad days have to happen, of course, but it sucks nonetheless to have to walk through them. Now Billy has taken Thumper again for a little bit. They’re off in the jogging stroller for a run. Billy was going to go run on his own, but taking Thumper along gives me a wee bit of time to try to drag maybe a page or two out, if I’m lucky. Something to salvage the work day. Which is why I’m blogging instead. Yeah. One of those days.
The whole day has felt off-center and disjointed. Blame it on daylight savings? As good an excuse as any. I will now try to write with the 40 minutes or so I have at hand.
I DO blame Daylight Savings time! I couldn’t wake up this morning to save my soul…and this evening I feel all discombobulated and depressed. It was far too light at 5 o’clock. Feh.

I hate those days, lets just hope there aren’t too many of them!

It’s so hard to write, write, write. With pictures, too! I’m a photographer and it’s hard for me to have photos on all my entries. Stop beating yourself up. I love your blog and appreciate you sharing.

We haven’t had the clock changeover yet here, but I’m having one of those days too. Maybe it’s just spring?

Daylight savings is really hard on me. Its just a measly hour, but still.

I think it’s due to Daylight Faking Time. Gets ya every year. When, oh when, will they stop extending the damned thing?
Been catching up after a blog-reading slump, and enjoyed it greatly! Good writing snippets, great post about old/new homes, and was giggling over the scourge of squash. And the mint. Lordy, yes, on the mint. My parents made the mistake of planting some cuttings of wild mint once, and it was marching to conquer the back yard. But oh, on a hot day, to chew a leaf then have a long drink of water…
Next month, don’t forget to start checking out all the local Farmer’s Market websites. Not only downtown Portland and Portland East, but the Hollywood one, Moreland, and umpteen more. Plus local U-Pick and truck farms, like one we have only about a mile from me up in Parkrose. The Oregonian has a map of ’em every year, and of course there’s always the ones on Sauvie Island. Take advantage of all the U-Pick berry growers. There’s nothing like filling a whole flat with huge, juicy Marionberries in about half an hour!
