Just a quick post…
…and then back to work with me. Lots of house activity this past weekend. Billy and the plasterer demolished the crumbling ceiling in my studio and began to replace it with sheetrock. Looks like tectonic plates or the inside of Frankenstein’s chest cavity in there now. While they did that, I started painting the dining room. I’m using two different shades of green. Think of a nice, ripe avocado. Above the chair rail is the bright celadon of the majority of the flesh. Below the chair rail is that deepest green right next to the skin. I’ve finished below the chair rail, but above still has one coat to go. I wanted to get it all done in one fell swoop, but was delayed because there were nail holes etc that I needed to spackle first. I’m loving my old, chewed up plaster walls even more now that they have some color on them. It’s reminding me of the apartment I lived in in Madrid, which was easily 200 years old. Since my house is only 100 years old, I can only attribute the premature aging to a fast life in Brooklyn…
Ok. Back to work. Later today I have to go pick up the outfit I’m wearing to my brother’s wedding (it was being altered) and that will take me right past a yarn shop. I will not go inside. I will not go inside. I will not go inside. Right.
Song for the day? “Caring Is Creepy” by The Shins. No reason. It just feels good today.
Go towrd the yarn store Carole Ann…..

You know, “Billy and the Plasterers” strikes me as a really good name for a band!
And go to the damn yarn store — you only live once. 🙂

The green paint sounds very lovely.
So what yarn did you buy?

i am loving the shins ever since my hair dresser demanded that i listen to it enough to know if i was listening to the shins or the stills (i could never remember which one it was he recommended or be aware which one was playing). 🙂

Never heard of the Shins, probably significantly older than you (but I used to be cool, I swear, and sometimes I still AM…)but I gotta tell you, you have a great sounding life. I love mine, too…but when I was 20 my dream sounded a lot more like your life than the life I actually wound up choosing 🙂 When I’m 55, and the kid is done with school…I’m making some MORE changes.

I’m picturing the fast life of your house…. She probably smoked and drank too much and played WAY too much loud music. Good for her.
