Mmm…yogurt

I’m back on dairy, baby. Thanks to Stephanie, who tipped me off that the problem was more likely oversupply than food-related. I followed her advice and, lo and behold, a happier and more comfortable baby now lives in my house. (She’s not just a yarn harlot, you know. Stephanie’s advice helped me through pregnancy, labor, and now parenting. Let’s all raise grateful coffee cups in the general direction of Toronto, shall we? Thanks, lady.)

Thanks also to Rabbitch, who knit Thumper a very sweet hat and bootie set for this winter, along with a washcloth. I’ll get my act together enough to take and post a photo soon. See…the kid doesn’t like to be put down, so photoshoots are tough.

In fact, I’m typing this entry with one hand. All of my typing is now done with one hand. On the rare occasion that I have even one hand free. So if I owe you an email…patience, please.

  7. Thank god you can still eat yoghurt. Life without it is too terrible to contemplate.

I’ll thank Stephanie in person for you later this month when a horde of San Antonio knitters pounce on her in Austin.

  9. You’re more than welcome. I shudder to think what my life would have become without a woman of experience or two when I was doing this with my girls.
Smooch that baby for me. (I like to get them right under the left cheek.)

  10. Gosh, your little one is just so cute! If you have to type with one hand, that’s the best possible reason why. Glad you get to have your Thumper and eat your yoghurt, too!

  27. Wow, that was a great link! There is SO MUCH to know, and food allergies are so hard to detect/diagnose. Good luck. Keep us posted and keep it up. Thumper appreciates it I’m sure. 🙂

  30. I wish I had run into your blog earlier….Im a volunteer breastfeeding counseler (plus I have a mini me of my own). I remember when mine was that age I wore him in his sling pretty much all day until he started hold his head up. I believe he needed time to adjust to life outside the womb(my midwife said boys take longer to adjust). Take it easy and rest when baby rests.

  39. Yeah, I feel like I’ve been “visiting” tons of knit bloggers via mail. It’s been fun!

I’m really glad you’re back on the yogurt. I died a little inside when I heard that it might cause nursing troubles. By the way, your blog and all your commenters have become so educational for me. It’s a great antidote to Baby Fear.

Too bad Thumper is so new, he could come to the Siren Fest this weekend on Coney Island.

  40. Yay! And, um, the booties and hat are for summer. Don’t babies in NY wear booties and hats in the summer? Wool, at that?

    oops.

  41. Oh goodness, I wish that I had known about the oversupply sooner! I had the EXACT same problem with my little guy for months, and had no idea what to do about it! I was living in a lake of spit-up. Wow. Well I’ll know next time now. Thank you for sharing this! (Who ever knew I’d find the answer on a knit blog?!)

  42. Wow… I have this mental image of a spouting fire hydrant now… 😉

    And I owe Thumper a sweater! 🙂

  43. So how are Diego and Sadie doing with a new hairless sibling?

  44. Thank goodness that’s worked out! My little guy is alergic, just like mom. And I too have become a very good one hand typer. Doing it right now as my little guy also doesn’t like to be put down and right now has my finger in his mouth to sooth the hickups.
