Muppet Monster Marches On

I’ve been knitting away at the Muppet monster sweater. The body is at 9 inches now. Five more to go before I join for the yoke.

That’s it for the yellow stripes. It’s all salmon from this point forward. I can’t wait to wear this one. As I’ve worked, the bottom edge has rolled to cover most of the first body stripe. I’m curious to see how much of the stripe will be visible after blocking. Whatever the sweater wants to be is fine. This one has a personality already.

  1. I noticed a sweater in the window of a classy boutique on 5th Ave. that had tapered bell sleeves. Go with your funky cutting-edge self!

  2. I really like your sense of color. Your sweater is inspiring me to try something for myself with more color. Thanks for the inspiration.

  3. hello 🙂 oooh pretty sweater. If only I had more patience to knit, and less articles to read. My poor scarf is languishing in its bag along with the tanktop slash sweater. Still need to figure out how to give it sleeves.

    kiss the doggies for me

  4. ooooooh girllll, I’m loving that sweater. I need to find out more about the Elizabeth Zimm Method thingie (forgot and the parents computer is too slow to look it up). And gawd, I LOVE those colors and me loves some stripes.

  5. Hey Cari! I’m loving your Muppet sweater big time. I’m so ready to start knitting for myself after all kinds of baby sweaters and things. What yarn are you using? Did you already tell us and my holiday-ass missed it? I want to make a sweater, too!

  6. Thanks, folks. I’m loving the colors in this one too. I wish they came across better in photos, though. The salmon is this great pinky orangey reddish color with flecks of gold that match the mustardy gold of the yellow stripes. You’ll just have to take my word for it, or come see the sweater in person. The salmon is Peace Fleece DK in Sakhalin Salmon and the yellow is Naturespun sportweight in Sunburst Gold.
