Oh. Sleepy. Very Sleepy.

We had a lovely barbecue here yesterday, with lots of family and friends. Em was here and we got a good bit of knitting in. Today she’ll be back (along with two male friends of mine who I suspect are both rather smitten by her, but you didn’t hear it here) to eat leftovers and then we’re all going to see Farenheit 9/11.

Billy and I are both exhausted today. Apparently it’s a lot of work to feed a houseful of people. Go figure. I think we pulled it off though; everyone seemed to have a good time and apparently didn’t notice that we’re only pretending to be grownups.

So I’m going to go sit perfectly still for a while, and when it cools off a bit the boy and I are going running. That’s it. No news here today. No knitting photos. Sorry. Tired…so…very…tired…

Go wish Rachael a happy birthday!

  1. I thought you did a very good job of pretending. You can always claim that the house–which is a very grownup house–has possessed you.

Yay, leftovers! I’ll be there by 6, ok? And for breakfast, I would like poached eggs in hollandaise sauce, with grapefruit juice and a toasted english muffin. The movers will be by later with my stuff.

  2. I’m wondering when someone’s gonna notice that *I’m* just pretending to be a grown-up…

Was Em wearing her Meet the Fleet tank?

  3. Aren’t we all rather smitten by Em?

Man, everybody’s throwing parties! (Well, you and Rachael.) I guess it’s summer. I’m sure you’re an excellent hostess, Miss Cari.

  4. Cari *is* an excellent hostess, I can vouch for that. And thank god we’re not grown-ups yet. I thought I might wake up and be one today, but it ain’t happened yet… I’ll let you know.

  5. So did you and Em like the F-911? I cried–those seven minutes with My Pet Goat broke my NYC-lovin’ heart. Woofs to the pups!
