oh yeah…I used to blog about the dogs a lot, didn’t I?

Well, Diego is doing very well. He’s getting to be a little old man, though, and sleeps a whole lot. Hence not a lot of photo ops, and not a lot of blog coverage. He would like to thank those who continue to ask after him, and when asked for comment, said this:

“They keep making me go out in the rain. I do not care for rain. Could someone please maybe do something about all this rain?”

  1. He looks like Oliver, my *upstairs neighbor’s dog. Aw.

(*she is known as omgPenelope, because of her tendency to hurricane in and out of my life, Oliver in tow)

  2. Dear Diego,

You live on the west coast now. Perhaps you need a rain slicker and boots?

  5. i was going to suggest the rain slicker idea, too. i mean, he’s got thin skin…he needs that extra protection…

and i’m not normally one to suggest clothes for dogs, but man, wouldn’t that be the cutest?!?!

  6. I thought you could maybe knit him a jacket out of Dale Hauk? My elderly sheltie also hated the rain. He took it as a personal affront that I made it rain when he wanted to go out. My new Corgi, loves going out even in the rain!

  7. Diego is doing a great “deer in headlights” impersonation. Love the Italian greyhounds!

  12. Diego, Oscar really loves the rain, snow, wind….just think you can run from your parents and its raining, they won’t want to come and catch you. (At least I am sure that is what Oscar thinks)

  13. What an adorable little old man he is! And I agree — a slicker would become him…..

  17. So glad to hear about the Iggy. Mine doesn’t like the rain here either – but rare in Montana. He also hates wind, cold, and snow – all very common in Montana. I take him for walks on sunny/no wind days – the other days I’m lucky to be able to get him to go out to potty. Some days we just have to put down newspaper in the garage for him.
My Iggy, Rocco, is four years old and LOVES/LIVES to snuggle and stay warm. I’m curious as to how old Diego is?

  18. I was trolling your site looking at the child’s vest pattern when I saw the picture of your hair and realized that you had moved to Portland. Well, as a long-time Portland resident, I would recommend Dosha Hawthorne or Salon En Vogue (the training site for Dosha). I’ve gone to both for >10 years and have loved them. My stylist is Fung (sp?), who I think is great, especially at color. (I have thick straight hair but I can’t imagine she wouldn’t be terrific for curly!). She is spendy, though. As to your environmental dilemma, ‘fraid I can’t help. I color my hair religiously to cover that grey, without a second thought. (BTW, I have 3 toddlers, ages 2, 2 and 4. So I understand the rare-knitting problem!)
