Okay…I must be cool

…because look what Google search this blog is the number one hit for.

I’m rather pleased with this search result too.

I have to wonder what these people think when they land on a knitting site. If you’re one of those people who’ve accidentally stumbled here via a search engine, and find yourself thinking, “A knitting blog? There are blogs about knitting?!” please don’t be frightened. We’re gentle folk, for the most part, we knit bloggers.

Depressed democrats and rock n roll dogs always welcome.

  1. That is hilarious. I was fixing to do a post like this. My favourite search request is “girls in 3inch heels”. Bwahahahaha. Now I have to wait with that, or I’ll look like a copy cat. 😉

  2. Ha! i’ve gotten some weird search result referrals too, but not quite as weird as those. The ones that scare me the most are the ones clearly looking for *me*.

  3. Geez, Google only brings up my old posts about KnitFest. You truly ~are~ cool!

  7. Too funny! Just call me “Texas h0tties”. ;0) Tried to disguise it there so you don’t make it onto the list too. ;0)

  8. Someone found me with “keep me in your heart, dawson’s creek”. A combination of listening to a lot of Warren Zevon and admiting that occasionally I do watch Dawson’s Creek (not as much now as when I was an undergrad). Someone also found me by searching for “watership down thesis”. Something tells me my site was not what they were looking for. Although the first visitor keeps coming back.

  11. Love the post. When friends I have not seen for a while, or new friends learn of my knitting they are kind of dunbstruck, being a man and all. When they see my knitting blog they think i am crazy…..You knit and write about it online? My SO teases me about the whole subculture of knitbloggers, as if just knitting is not enough, we have to blog about it too! Yes, I must knit AND knit blog. 🙂

  13. I had to change a title of a post because of all the hits I was getting for ‘elastigirl.’

Have a muffin for me, will ya? And spill some hot chocolate, for old time’s sake.

  14. All but a handful of searches finding my blog are knitting-related. The one that I will never understand is:

    “my cat’s don’t like murphy’s oil soap.”

Yeah, I don’t get it either.

  16. I like the fact that I’ve gotten about ten search hits since Halloween for “it puts the lotion in the basket.”

  17. goodness gracious me! *said with tongue firmly in cheek*

I got some really weird ones a while ago… “big butt granny pics” and “shaved pu$$y pics”. Now THAT is just downright scary.

I think the same thing… sheesh, a knitting website must be a real disappointment! *LOL*
