It was a back ache. And after Billy stretched and rubbed it last night it went away. (How much do I love being married to a physical therapist?!)
I guess my feelings about eating meat are still kind of complicated, or I wouldn’t have managed to turn a sore back into the absolute conviction that I’d fucked up major organs by eating food.
Bring on the meat! (With a bit more restraint this time, I promise.)
Glad it was only that, and nothing worse!
Cari, I am LOVING following your progression into omnivorous living. So funny. I consider myself a hmmm… shall we say…a compassionate carnivore too, but I always make sure we eat meatless at least a couple times per week – it just seems more balanced. That being said I picked up some ground lamb at the farmers market the other day and am very much looking forward to lamb burgers on the grill tomorrow night.
Chuckling over here. I’m quite sure that it would take more than a week of eating meat to bring on kidney complications, but maybe that’s just me. 🙂
Welcome back to the Dark Side! ;o)
Awwww. Yay Billy.
De-lurking to say: Hi!
And secondly – I’m not a vegetarian and never have been, but I’ve read your blog for a long time and being vegetarian was incredibly important to you. It’s not surprising that such a huge life change would come with mixed feelings. Glad to hear you’re feeling better though :).
*runs back into her corner*
i’m not surprised. it seemed a little odd that kidney thang. what an insight!
BBQ chicken. Hmmm
