Thumper, Fit Model
From the looks of things around here, it would be reasonable to assume that I haven’t been doing any knitting at all. Not true! I have been knitting. I just haven’t been telling you about it. Terrible, I know. I don’t get much knitting time, but in the time I have, I’ve been working on the next pattern for sale. This weekend the sample was at a point where I could try it on the patient fit model:
What I found? The v-neck was way too shallow. You can’t even tell from the photo that it’s a v-neck, right? So after these photos I ripped back quite a ways, tinkered with the pattern (ew! math!) and knit it back up. I’m happy to report a much better neckband was the result. Now I need to pick up and knit the armhole edgings, give the thing a serious blocking, and rewrite the pattern for sizes smaller and larger than Thumper’s. This is the 12 – 18 month size he’s wearing. What other sizes would you want me to offer for this pattern? I’ll be providing a separate intarsia chart for each size. Don’t fear the intarsia, by the way. This one’s quite simple and would be a great first intarsia project.
This weekend was spent getting the house ready to put on the market. There’s still so much to be done before it’s ready, and only one more weekend to do it. Ugh. It’s mostly a matter of decluttering, but see previous post for an idea of how very much decluttering there is to be done. A big carload of stuff went to donation yesterday. A good start.
Is it an octopus?
The sweater, I mean. Not Thumper.

It’s kind of hard to notice the (cute) sweater in the wake of all that thumpercuteness.

I love that sweater. I will also admit that it took me a few minutes to get my eyes of the model to look at what he’s wearing, but when I did, much goodness.
I have a nephew who’s about to turn two. Could you size it up to a 2-3 year please? I’m waffling on asking for 6-12 month coz I just don’t know if I want to put the effort into intarsia, which I’m not good at yet, for a sweater that will be too small in sneeze, but I’ve got 3 expectant mums in my SnB group right now, and this pattern would definitely amuse all of them.

Ooh, I can’t imagine trying to sell a house and move with a 9 month old to keep track of. I’ve been in my house for almost ten years, and with two small kids I can’t imagine trying to move!
The sweater is adorable, as is Thumper, as always.
