What the discerning toddler is watching on YouTube this week.
“I wanna watch the drum video.”
“No, the OTHER drum video.”
“I want Feist come to my house, pick me up. I want Feist hug my body.”

How many adult people* do you think would mutter “get in line, kid” to that last one?
*first typed, “men” then realized, “too limiting.”
I’m half delerious with the plague and I can’t stop wondering about the alternatives to hugging someone’s body. I guess Feist could hug your aura, your vegetable steamer, or your 12 pack of toilet paper instead.
I’m in Love with the number 4 once more.
Classic Sesame Street. Number four rocks. That’s a good one, but my favorite remains the James Blunt song about the triangle.
At least Thumper knows what he wants…
OK, I would like this to be another regular feature. Thumper’s Video Picks.
I maintain that the Sesame Street version of this song is superior to the original. “1, 2, 3, 4 chickens just back from the shore” is simply exquisite.
My short person (just a little younger than Thumper) also likes Seseme Street. And a good dose of other PBS shows–Between the Lions, Super Why, and Sid the Science Kid. But no Barney–I can’t stand that purple dinosaur, so he doesn’t watch that one.
Wow, do I feel old. My kids were little long before YouTube existed.
FYI, I’ve been following your advice re: retyping while revising, and dang, I think you’re right! I find I think really, really hard about each word when I have to retype it. It’s slow, but I think it’s better. So thanks!
My little guy loves R.E.M. on Sesame Street performing “Furry Happy Monsters”, as well as the classic “Ladybug Picnic” and “I’m a Little Airplane”. I don’t know how I’d ever be able to finish typing an e-mail if not for YouTube.
I looove, “I want Feist hug my body”! My daughter totally cracked me up this morning singing along to Feist in the car, only instead of the Sesame Street version she was singing, “I feel it all, I feel it all, the wings are wide, the wings are wide, wild card inside, wild card inside.” There’s nothing like a 2 year old singing “wild card inside”. I think Feist would like it if she knew that all of the wee kiddies were digging her music.
Apparently, your toddler had better taste in music than my husband : )
That is awesome. He does have good taste!
