What the discerning toddler is watching on YouTube this week.
“I wanna hear the clapping song.”
This CD is in heavy rotation in our car, and Thumper especially likes to clap along to this song.
“Why she is in a box? She got some flashlights?”
I tried to find a video of Iggy doing this one live, but you’ll be SHOCKED to learn that I couldn’t find any live Iggy versions that were safe for toddlers. Siouxsie is equally awesome, anyway. And yes, I’m trying to influence the child’s musical taste; and yes, I know it won’t work.
“He’s playing drums with his daddy?”
Equally pleasing to mom and kid. He loves the drumming, and seeing a kid with his daddy. I’ve had a crush on Desi Arnaz since I was five. (He’s DREAMY. Swoon…) Win, win!
Heh. My sister’s husband bought a baby Ramones T-shirt for their kid before she was even born. I remember the Desi & Jr. number, but I think my crush was more about Lucy.
Yeah, good luck with that influencing musical taste thing. My oldest (almost 16) now listens to bands with names like Deicide and Cannibal Corpse. You can bet those have never been on my playlist.
is eli too young to youtube? He liked the dezi video too!
Some of it will take. I remember my Mom playing Van Morrison and Led Zeppelin on the 8-track. Now when I was in high school I wouldn’t have been caught DEAD listening to those (I was listening to Siouxsie) but I like them now.
Jack Johnson Bubbly Toes and Banana Pancakes are generally big hits with kidlets.
Totally some of it will take. Even if they get narrow in the teenage years, when they get a bit older, all those seeds start producing, it’s amazing.
ok. you made me “favorite” Baby Babalu for Jonah. We’ll see what he says to that one.
