Too sick to knit

It’s true. I’ve got a nasty stomach bug. This is my first time sitting upright since early Sunday morning and I don’t expect it to last long.

You know you’re really sick when you can’t bring yourself to knit even a single stitch. What a waste of a day in bed.

Ugh.

And not to overshare, but vomiting while 29 weeks pregnant? It’s a whole new experience. I really don’t recommend it.

Okay. Enjoy Monday without me. I’m heading back to bed.

  12. Aw, sorry hon. Hope you’ve got someone to rub your back and dote on you.

  13. You poor dear! Take it easy and hang tight. My hubby got this last night… and he claims he has more understanding of labor after 10 hours of on-again, off-again vomiting. (TMI, I know.) I’m just sitting here wondering what I can do to NOT GET THIS! Please please please! I trust both of you – I believe it sucks. Please I don’t want to learn first hand.

  14. Oh, honey. I’m so sorry. I had a flu bug during the first trimester, when I was already nervous about being pregnant, and it scared me silly. But now, with the belly? Oy. I’m wishing for a speedy recovery for you. Noodle soup and juice and bed. xoxo

  16. Oh sweetness, I’m so sorry. Let me know if you need me to bring anything by, OK? I am only a few stops away now, after all. (yay.)

  17. Aie. As in, Ouch. Been there, wondered how in hell that didn’t explode from the pressure.

As sending anything edible your way is out of the question, I’ll send you hugs instead. 🙂

  19. Yuck! I hope you’re feeling better soon. I’m sure you know this, but the BRAT diet is good when you have a stomach bug: bananas, rice, applesauce and toast. It would be good if you could manage to choke down a little bit of food. Sorry — you don’t need me to mother you, i’m just on auto-pilot. I really hope you feel better soon. xxx!

  33. Oh, damnit, that is not fun and not fair. Feel better…neither coughing NOR throwing up are good or fun things to do when 29 weeks pregnant. Stupid, nasty bugs!

  34. I hope you are feeling better soon…being sick is never fun, but especially not when pregnant. I always had to sit on the toilet with a bowl so I didn’t pee myself! Decidedly NOT fun.

  35. Poor Cari. Hope you feel much better soon — at least well enough to knit! Take care.

  36. Oh, come now! Where’s your sense of adventure? You have a whole new misery story to torture your child with when they become an unruly teen! You know the ones; “When I was pregnant with you (fill in the blank). 🙂 Pretty soon you’ll be able to set your cereal bowl on your handy new “shelf” and before you know it, your “turkey timer” will pop put and the baby will be done. Feel better soon. Knitting awaits!

  47. Ack! Been there, done that. It was awful. If you’re not better soon call the Doctor–I was told taking gravol (dramamine? Canadian style) was better than getting dehydrated.

  48. Ugh! I’m so sorry you’re sick. I had the nastiest stomach bug when I was 8 months pregnant…nothing would stay down, not even gatorade. I was about one cup of water away from being admitted to the hospital to be hydrated. Horrible. I really feel for you…here’s hoping you and the little one will be feeling better soon. 🙂

  54. oh no.
no no no no no. That’s just wrong. Pregnant mommies should not be subjected to stomach flus. There should be some sort of immunity that goes along with creating life in your abdomen.
