Two finished footwear objects do not necessarily a pair make

One Eleanora legwarmer (okay…anklewarmer. It reaches mid-calf, which is, I believe, the most flattering length for a legwarmer) and one Child’s First Sock. One more of each to come.

  1. Heh…I’m just imagining what Eleanora would’ve looked like had you been planted firmly in denial about the size of the sock and just kept going.

But man, is that lovely. I’ll be starting mine soon.

  2. The leg warmer is great – I’m thinking Mim would love it! Don’t designers usually love when people make variations of their patterns?

Child’s First Sock – so pretty!

  3. Both lovely. But that Child’s First Sock looks awfully large — will you not be allowing your child to wear socks until he is four or five? Poor little thing…

  4. I am assuming that the “child’s first sock” is suposed to be the first sock they learn to knit?? seems a lil complicated for that.. are the heal and toes simplified?

  9. Hi,

I just found your site and am excited. I just received a Studio Chunky Knitter (model# 150) and your site came up when I “Googled” the knitting machine. I am in desperate need of an instrcuion manual and have not been able to fine one anywhere! If you have one could I please, please get a copy? I would gladly send a s.a.s.e. as well as pay for any costs incurred in copying.

    Thank you

  12. allow me, as cari possibly is busy rolling over. “Child’s First Sock” is the name of the pattern, from Nancy Bush’s Knitting Vintage Socks. Originally it was for a child; Bush updated the pattern so it now can be worn by a woman, i’m guessing cari, herself.

if you don’t know that book, do! it’s really wonderful!
