  11. We’re celebrating the tenth anniversary of our move from Brooklyn to Portland and, yes, we still have a few boxes unpacked. We’ve tried to set the bar low for you! Take your time. When you’re ready to blog Portland, I’d love to know which neighborhood you chose.

We have a great spinning guild here (Aurora Colony Handspinner’s Guild), if you’re interested in spinning, and hopefully you didn’t miss Oregon Flock and Fiber Festival this past weekend. Maybe I’ll see you around, us fiber freaks are everywhere, lol.

  13. what you need is a genuine pop up house. my friend tells me i have one. she jokes that i walk in and open my boxes and POP my house is home. i’m hoping to be out from under boxes by the time my parents leave town (they come the 2nd-12th).

    t-minus one day until moving day for me!!! 🙂

  45. Belated here; I got kinda snowed under by pre-, during and post-OFFF experiences. [g] But wonderful post on the last stretch of your trip, with all the fantastic photos. Glad you made it safe, welcome home! And just think of all the wonderful places you’re closer to now. You can get to Wyoming in a leisurely two days. 😉 Sheesh – there’s Glacier National Park; Canada (you’ve got to visit Vancouver and Victoria); Dry Falls, Mt. St. Helens, the Olympics and Juan de Fuca Straits up in WA; and that’s not even counting a gajillion things in Oregon… Thumper is gonna have a ball growing up here. Start saving now for A) skis, B) a snowboard, or C) a windsurfing board. 😉 (This is beyond the bike, of course.) Good luck with the unpacking and settling in! (Oh yeah; two fiber festivals to think ahead for: Madrona in WA, and Black Sheep Gathering down in Eugene. [eg])

  46. I had a dream this morning that I was on a city bus with my daughter, and I looked over and on the seat adjacent to me was Thumper sitting in a cardboard box. I was like: “Oh no! I know whose baby this is. Cari must be freaking out!! I have to find her.” Then I woke up. Isn’t that weird?
