Koigu? Did I say Koigu?

Because I meant Fleece Artist. So there I was, standing in front of my stash, wondering how I could justify a purchase of semi-solid Koigu for these mittens, when I spotted two skeins of Fleece Artist Merino in perfect Cari Mitten colors.

Saffron for the main color, red for the contrast. 100% Merino goodness, and 100% from the stash.

  1. Way to go, shopping the stash! 2 hours ago I was standing in front of the largest wall of Koigu I’ve ever seen, wondering how I could justify a purchase. Your post has helped me find the reason, because I’ve been coveting those mittens too! Thanks for the long distance enabling!

  13. I love those colors, but it’s a good thing the mittens aren’t striped, cause they make me think of McDonald’s.

  19. Great, thanks, now I have yet another new pattern calling my name. And I’ll have to find different colors for mine so we won’t be mitten-twins. That’s going to be a problem. (Can we un-capitalize fleece artist too? water, air, chocolate, fleece artist? Just saying.)

  20. Whoa-oa-oa-oahhhh! I bought the pattern. Thanks for the link. And I just happen to have two solid (k)oigus in my stash that will work. Of course, I have to get over my fear of stranded knitting first. Minor detail. Man, those are gorgeous!

  43. Ooh, I can’t WAIT to see them done!!! I love those mittens! I actually think they’d be good for a man, too, if knit in black and grey or some other sort of manly combo (which, sadly, with the men in my life consists primarily of black and grey with a sprinkling of hunter and navy…)

    😉

For a second there I thought someone had scalped you and spun your hair into yarn.

    Thank god it’s just merino.
