What I haven’t been telling you

tadpole.jpg

I’m in my twelfth week, due June 17th. This sonogram image (I assure you the baby was much less fuzzy in live-action) was from 8 1/2 weeks.

Oh, the knitting I’m going to do. I’ve already bought a few Dale of Norway baby books and am dreaming of colorwork sweaters with ducks and ladybugs and chickens, and am definitely going to be making a pullover with a sea lion on it. I’ll post photos of potential baby projects in the days to come.

And hell yes, we want to know the sex. Life has enough surprises. I want to know who’s in there as soon as possible. (For example, who is this person who drives me to consume and enjoy large quantities of orange juice when my logical brain knows damn well that I don’t like orange juice.)

So I can completely empathize with the need for massive quantities of orange juice and I’m imagining your time away was time well spent, but also included lots of naps. I hope you’re feeling well and I hope everything goes as smoothly as possible. We’ll have to share notes on all the strange things our bodies are going. 🙂 Happy for you!!

Be sure to do as much knitting as you can before the baby is born, because you’ll be too tired to knit much afterward. I didn’t knit for a while after my first child was born, (although I was getting my master’s degree at the same time, so I really didn’t have any free time!)

  153. Hahaha, awesome! That is so so great! And I’m ‘laughing’ because whenever I fantasize about the kids I hope to have, the knitting I can do for them is a large portion of the warm fuzzy feeling I get.

It’s really nice to hear this happens to other knitters, because I feel slightly guilty about it.

And re: the sea lion sweater, do you have a pattern for this item, or is it something that you’ll be crafting. I’m going to need one of those, too (eventually – not now).
