Life moving on, as it tends to do

I’m starting to feel better. Smiling more often than not. Not so much with the crying anymore. It’ll be two weeks this Thursday since the miscarriage. Time’s moving on, fast as usual.

I’ve got this terrific kid already who needs me to be present for him, and that’s helping. We’ve been very busy around here:

Rollerskates and kneepads were found and purchased at Goodwill.

He was so pleased he insisted on wearing them home in the stroller. No action shots because I have to hold both of his hands while he “skates.”

There’s been some hiking as well. We tried to hike to Trillium Lake, but the trails were still covered in snow–like two feet of the stuff, if you can believe that–so it wasn’t kid-friendly. The kiddo was pretty damn happy just to get a chance to play in the snow in his shorts, though, and it was a beautiful drive up there. Here are my guys with Mt. Hood in the distance:

And this is how most of our time has been spent. Someone’s REALLY into his big boy bike right now.

I hope your summer’s off to a good start. We’re getting ours back on track around here. I’m pretty determined to make it a good one.
